I don’t know if we need a fediverse version of TikTok, I really wish these short video posting platforms would go away.

I found this interesting, I had never contemplated how many types of spiderwebs there are.

If I get another text message from the Harris campaign I think I’ll explode! I feel I get at least 2-3 a day and I mark everyone junk, and they keep coming.. relentless.

It’s interesting that a little over 100 years ago we were all riding around on horses still. I’m assuming now, most have never even been on one.

I’m wondering how hard would it be to really quit Amazon? Just the shopping or prime video, kindle, and audible also? I wonder if I could do it.

I’m considering doing 100 days of blogging. I’m not sure if I’m ready to commit to forcing that much content out. I’m guessing a large percentage of it would end up being crap just to get something out there.

Why MicroBlog?

I’ve played with a lot of platforms and started multiple blogs, but I keep coming back to MicroBlog. Why you may ask? I’ve been pondering that and came up with a few clear reasons.

MicroBlog has so many features, I’ll name the ones important to me. * Cross Posting to Mastodon, Threads, BlueSky, and Nostr. * It’s also its own activity pub instance an could replace Mastodon if you wish. * Helps me create a photo gallery * Manage and share my reading. * Bookmarks * It has a built-in encrypted notebook * Produces a newsletter for me. * And if I had the gumption, I could host a podcast on it. * Plus the basics.. pages, categories, static pages..etc

Not to mention the fact it’s my blog itself. But there are a few things it could use. It has a small theme selection, though, if you’re handy with code, you can customize to your liking. I myself am a little lazy and lack the time, so I make do with what’s there by default. I guess that is just one thing.

In the end, I really do love MicroBlog, and until I can design something as good on my own, I don’t see myself leaving. I may stop all together, but when I come back it’s usually here.

Cheers!

Since I have up to 5 blogs, I wonder if it would be best to separate the little microposts to their own blog and have long form content as its own. I already have photos.timapple.com, maybe timapple.com could be the firehose of little blurbs, and then have blog.timapple.com.

I’m having a real tech meltdown this week, switching services like wildfire… just saw @manton ’s iPhone image, and it reminded me of Hey! … now I’m sitting here wondering if I should start it back up… dangit! Squirrel!

Every time I think about going all in on Macs; I visit the Apple website and try to build a MacBook Pro to my liking, and then throw up in my mouth a little when I see the price. I think I will use this Surface until it explodes.

I constantly am finding myself in the battle between paper and pen or digital journaling. I’m leaning digital again now, just installed DayOne again.
